As part of the construction law and real estate practice, Jan has extensive experience in dealing with large projects and infra projects and the corresponding financial interests. His clients include government organisations, construction companies, developers and lessor en lessees. Jan is also specialised in expropriation.

Each workday begins for Jan at 7.30am with a review of case law and literature. He is meticulous, perfectionistic and an authority for many a younger lawyer. Jan has worked on large expropriation projects such as the construction of the Centrale As and the N31. In terms of construction law, he has worked on projects such as the below-grade road Drachtsterweg (including the aqueduct). In real estate, Jan has represented various government authorities in disputes on state aid and the development and realisation of business and residential developments.
